Dental Implants

Missing teeth have a negative effect on the appearance of your smile and your ability to bite, chew, and speak.

Dental implants fill the gaps left by missing teeth and provide a secure foundation for natural-looking crowns, bridges, or dentures.

The dentists at Ridgewood Dental Associates can expertly restore your smile with dental implants here in Ridgewood, NJ.

What Are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are prosthetic tooth roots. They are usually made of biocompatible titanium. Our dentists can surgically insert implants through your gums and into your jawbone. Over time, dental implants fuse with your bone and become part of your anatomy. They are then able to support dental restorations like crowns, bridges, or dentures.

Are You Tired of Missing Teeth?

Whether you are missing one tooth, multiple teeth, or all of your teeth, we can create a customized dental implant treatment plan to get your smile back on track. To get started, send us a message online or call:

Rediscover Your Smile With Dental Implants

Dental implants are the top choice for tooth replacement. Dr. Joung explains the dental implant process, starting with determining if you are a good candidate for implants.

The Benefits of Dental Implants

Jawbone Support

Tooth loss results in the loss of jawbone density over time. By providing a new root structure, dental implants prevent bone loss and restore normal bite function.

Long-Lasting Results

According to the Institute for Dental Implant Awareness, dental implants have a 95% success rate for long-term use. With proper care and oral hygiene, dental implant posts can last 40 years or longer.

Remarkable Bite Stability

Crowns, bridges, and dentures supported by implants are securely anchored in place. Patients can bite, chew, and speak without risk of slippage. No denture creams or adhesives are needed to have a strong smile.

Improved Self-Confidence

Jawbone atrophy and tooth loss affect your facial features. The inability to eat certain foods can also impact your self-image. Dental implants restore your confidence and independence, helping you look and feel younger.

I have visited RDA since 2007. I live in Monmouth county and I have driven over 60 miles to receive the professional treatment that RDA has to provide. Dr Joung is the best he holds two degrees he’s a periodontist and prosthodontist as well not many dentists achieve such a feat. The level of professionalism stands out the moment you walk in the office and it extends throughout the entire visit by both the team and the doctor himself. I give it a 5 star. 6 stars if Google would add an extra star.

Dental Implants Offer Flexible Treatment Options We Can Provide Both Traditional Implants and All-on-4

Dental implants offer solutions for patients missing just one tooth or a complete arch of natural teeth. Whatever your needs, our dentistry practice can provide you with a beautiful, functioning smile.

Traditional Dental Implants

traditional implant

Traditional implant dentistry involves placing an implant where there used to be a tooth root. The process requires two oral surgeries. The first oral surgery places the implant, with a second surgery later to place the abutment. If you lack sufficient jawbone density, you'll need an additional preliminary grafting surgery.

All-on-4® Dental Implants

denture going on four implants

All-on-4 dental implants are designed to support a full denture for people missing most or all of their teeth. With All-on-4, the implants are placed in a single oral surgery, with no need for separate abutment placement. Only four implants are used, strategically placed in order to make the most out of the patient's jawbone structure (bone grafting is usually not required).

Additional Types of Dental Implants

Alternatives to traditional dental implants can provide patients with quicker treatment timelines, improved eligibility, and include:

Immediate Load Implants

Immediate load dental implants allow our dentists to place a temporary restoration following implant placement. This provides you with a restored smile in a single appointment. The temporary restoration will be switched out for a permanent crown once the healing process is complete. While immediate load implants are a quick way to fill the gap in your smile, they are reserved for patients with good jawbone density.

Mini Dental Implants

Much slimmer than traditional implants, mini implants require less-invasive surgery and are typically used to stabilize a set of lower dentures. Mini implants are a good option for you if you are missing most or all of your teeth and have low jawbone density. It is important to keep in mind that because of their size, mini implants cannot withstand the same biting forces and chewing pressure as traditional implants.

Dental Implant Restorations

Dental Crowns

The gap left by a missing tooth can be effectively replaced with a single dental implant and a durable dental crown.

Dental Bridges

I have nothing but good things to say about Ridgewood Dental Associates. It was finally time for me to have major dental work done and called RDA for an appointment. Never once was I made to feel uncomfortable or embarrassed that it had been years since I saw a dentist. Dr. Joung met with me to explain the implant surgery he would be performing and put me at ease knowing that I was in good hands with both doctors and staff. Dr. Samani used his expertise to give me back my healthy smile. The doctors and staff are warm and friendly and treat you like family. I would definitely recommend RDA for all your dental needs

I truly cannot recommend this dental office enough. The entire staff is incredibly friendly. I had only visited the office once or twice and by my next visit over a year later they still remembered my name just by looking at me, which I found impressive being that they see many patients. Every visit I have with this office is pleasant. They answer questions thoroughly and patiently. Instead of avoiding smiling, laughing, and hiding the way I had for 24 years, now I'm excited to smile every day. Dr. Joung did an incredible job and I'll always be thankful for him and this staff. I love this place!

What to Expect From Implant Placement to Final Restoration

The traditional dental implant process from beginning to end lasts about four to seven months. Here is an overview of the important steps in the treatment process:
You'll only have to visit one practice for the entirety of your implant treatment. We are able to complete each stage in-house.
You'll only have to visit one practice for the entirety of your implant treatment. We are able to complete each stage in-house.

Placing the Implants

The initial oral surgery involves securely anchoring the titanium implants into the jawbone. Temporary implant restorations may be provided at this early stage of treatment.
Placing the Implant

In the three to six months after surgery, the titanium implants fuse with the surrounding bone. This process is known as "osseointegration" and is essential for implant success.

Placing the Abutment

Abutments are placed in a second surgery after osseointegration is complete. The abutments are visible through the gums, connecting the implants with the final restorations.

Final Restoration

Once the gums have healed around the abutments, we can place the final custom crowns, bridges, or dentures. The results are a testament to the effectiveness of modern dentistry.
